GlobeMed at UW-Madison is part of a network of over 55 national GlobeMed chapters that seek to build a movement for global health equity through grassroots partnerships, advocacy, and education. We are a student-led nonprofit organization driven by the belief that health is a human right. Our chapter is partnered with Children of Peace in Lira, Uganda- a grassroots organization dedicated to the empowerment and well-being of former child soldiers. Our staff engages in a wide variety of fundraising and advocacy events on campus, in an effort to generate financial support for our partner organization and spread awareness of today’s most pressing global health issues. Through weekly education sessions and meetings, collaboration with other global health organizations, and on-site internships with Children of Peace, our chapter aims to build sustainable relationships and give our staff the knowledge and skills to become leaders in the movement for global health equity.
